Two persons found murdered in vegetable market

Hyderabad, March 27: Two persons were brutally done to death while another suffered injuries in an attack by some unidentified person, in a vegetable market at Vikarabad in the neighbouring Rangareddy district.

The murders came to light today morning at around 5.30 a.m when local farmers found the market security guard, Mohd Ali (50), lying in a pool of blood.

A little distance away from Ali’s body, they found another person lying dead. He was later identified as Hanumaiah (70), a beggar who used to take shelter in the market during nights.

In the same premises, locals and police found another person, Ganesh, injured.

All the three were brutally attacked suspected to be with a blunt object and the duo suffered severe head injuries.

“It is suspected that all the three persons were in deep slumber when they were attacked,’’ Vikarabad police subinspector Sekhar Goud said.

Ganesh, however, could not provide any leads to the police about the attackers.

“Ganesh is in sub-conscious state of mind. He did not even know that he was attacked till we woke him up,’’ Sekhar Goud said.

Police suspect the attacker might be a maniac. “There is no reason to kill the security guard nor the beggar.

They have no money to loot and moreover they were sleeping,’’ a police official said.

Police, however, are also probing whether it is the handiwork of any thief who ventured into the market to steal sacks of vegetables.
