Hyderabad, July 10: On a tip-off, the Tukaramgate Police nabbed two notorious habitual offenders, who were involved in house-breaking at nights and house burglaries under various police station limits of North Zone and seized 85.8 gram gold, 56 gram silver ornaments , one tab and four cell phones all worth Rs 3 lakh.
The accused were identified as Kona Uma Mahesh alias Uma alias Mahesh, 24, of New Mirzalguda, Malkajgiri and native of Safaibasthi, Kothagudem in Khammam district; Arzi Naveen Kumar alias Naveen, 28, GHMC contract labourer, of Panthula colony, Balaji Nagar, Yapral and native of Kothagudem.
Police said the accused used to select locked houses and break open them and commit theft of gold, silver and cell phones during nights. On Wednesday, K. Mohan, DSI of PS Tukaramgate and his team, on a tip-off, apprehended the offenders. The duo confessed to have committed five offences — two cases under Karkhana police limits, two under Tukaramgate PS and one case under Bowenpally police limits. At their instance, the police recovered the booty and produced before the Court for judicial remand.
The accused were nabbed and property was recovered by K. Mohan, DSI and crime staff of Tukaramgate PS under the supervision of T. Laxmi Narayana, Inspector, Tukaramgate and Asst. Commissioner of Police, Gopalpuram Division. (NSS)
