Two Nepalese smugglers held, fake Indian currency seized

Motihari, September 09: Two Nepalese smugglers were arrested and counterfeit Indian currency with a face value of Rs 39,800 seized in East Champaran district along the Indo-Nepal border.

Acting on a tip-off, SSB jawans assisted by district armed police personnel arrested Aslam Azad (20) and Shyam Kumar Singh, hailing from Lipni village in Nepal and allegedly involved in running the fake currency on the Indian side, at at Raxual town yesterday, SSB Deputy Commandant Lokesh Kumar Singh said today.

The secuirty personnel seized fake currency from a box fixed in their motorcycle bearing a number issued by Narayani Anchal Transport department in Nepal.

The two had disclosed names of several Indians involved in the fake currency rcaket, he said.
