Two murdered in a dispute

Hyderabad, November 17: A history-sheeter and his relative were brutally murdered reportedly due to differences with a construction contractor at Upparapally under the Rajendranagar police station limits late yesterday night.

According to police, the deceased are Balaraju (41) of Kacheguda, a history-sheeter and his relative, Kishan (40) of Saroornagar. The duo were found dead by locals in a plot in a lane opposite pillar number 183 of the PVNR Expressway.

Police said unidentified assailants threw chilli powder in their eyes and later smashed their heads with boulders.

Rajendranagar police said that Balaraju’s brother, ‘Kacheguda’ Venkatesh and his partner ‘Alwal’ Venkateshhad taken a contract from one Moti Lal to evacuate mud from his plot. Venkatesh gave a sub-contract to another person, Yellappa, but due to differences that cropped up between the duo, the contract was later cancelled. Fearing retaliation from Yellappa, Venkatesh reportedly asked Balaraju to guard the premises.

Police said Balaraju and Kishan were consuming liquor at the plot when they were killed. They registered a case under section 302 (murder) and took Yellappa into custody for questioning.

In another incident, a 45- year person was killed by his friend at his residence at Patel chervu in Miyapur late yesterday night. Miyapur police said the victim, Venkatesh, a native of Karnataka was working as a daily wage labourer.

He befriended one Gopal, who assisted him in finding a hut on government land.

Police said the duo had been quarreling over the hut since the past few days. Yesterday night, they consumed alcohol near the hut and entered into an argument. In a fit of rage, Gopal hit Venkatesh on the head with a crowbar and later fled from the spot.
