Two more suicide attempts for the cause of Telangana

The suicide spree over delay in formation of separate Telangana state continued on Tuesday with two more attempting suicide by immolating themselves. Both of them are battling for their lives. An Intermediate student torched herself in her home in Pallenizamabad village in Konaraopet mandal in Karimnagar district on Tuesday night. Nishan Pallavi, 17, was rushed to Sircilla government hospital with 90%burns.

Daughter of former village sarpanch Ravinder, Pallavi poured kerosene and immolated herself at around 9.10 pm when her family members were watching TV. At the hospital Pallavi told cops that she took the extreme step dejected over the delay in the formation of Telangana. Doctors said chances of her survival were remote. Sources said Pallavi used to take part in Telangana movement actively. In another incident at Chinnaramancharla village in Bachannapet mandal, 75 km from Warangal town, an iron scrap dealer Kalakanchi Ilaiah, 30, set himself ablaze at around 11 pm. A critically injured Ilaiah was rushed to Jangaon area hospital with 80% burns. He shouted Jai Telangana’ slogans before attempting suicide.

Meanwhile , the Telangana demand continued to rock Lok Sabha for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, with TRS, TDP members from the region , supported by Telangana Congress leaders and the BJP benches forcing the House to be adjourned till noon.
