Two more persons die in UP due to cold; toll 132

Lucknow, January 16: Two more persons died due to cold in different parts of Uttar Pradesh, taking the toll in the state this winter to 132, officials said here today.

One death each was reported from Hardoi and Deoria due to cold conditions in the last 24 hours.

According to Met department, rise in mercury level has given some respite to the people from cold wave condition.

Lucknow recorded a maximum temperature of 6 deg C, which was a degree below normal, while Varanasi recorded a maximum of 11 deg C, which was three notches above normal.

Agra, which recorded a minimum of 5 deg C, was the coldest place in the state.
