Two more Law & Order zones created in Cyberabad

Hyderabad, August 13: The State Government on Thursday issued orders creating two more law and order zones in Cyberabad Police Commissionrate.

The Director General of Police (DGP) informed the government that at present there are only three Law and Order Zones each headed by an officer of the rank of Deputy Commissioner of Police (L&O). The area of Cyberabad Police Commissionerate is very vast which demands more and more augmentation of Police Force as well as improved supervision for tackling of the situations. The crime rate of this unit is almost on par with the Hyderabad City and more with regard to heinous crimes like murders, dacoities and other offences.

Due to heavy Crime, Law and Order problems and vast jurisdiction, the existing supervisory officers i.e. DCPs are unable to supervise properly and effectively. Further, due to frequent visits of VVIPs, VIPs and other mega events being conducted in Cyberabad limits, the present three DCsP of Law and Order zones have to concentrate more on bandobust and security duties and therefore they are not able to concentrate on basic policing work i.e. prevention of crime, investigation and detection of cases expeditiously. As such, there is an urgent need to increase the existing three Law and Order Zones to five zones by creating two more New Zones in the Cyberabad Commissionerate.

The DGP has, therefore, requested the Government for necessary orders creating two new Law and Order Zones and to post two SPs (ex-cadre IPS) as DCPs to head the newly created Zones. Other administrative support like vehicles, furniture, staff etc., will be met from the existing pool and there is no financial commitment involved in this proposal.

After careful consideration of the proposal, the state government approved the proposal of the DGP for creation of two more new Law and Order Zones in the Cyberabad Commissionerate, subject to meeting other administrative support like vehicles, furniture, staff etc., from the existing pool, without additional financial commitment.

The issue of posting of two SPs (Ex-cadre IPS) as DCPs to head the newly created zones, will be considered as and when cadre officers are appointed in those posts.
