New Delhi, June 06: Two labourers were mowed down by a speeding truck here Sunday, police said.
The accident occurred near the Aya Nagar Metro station in south Delhi early Sunday morning, police added.
Kailash, 40, and a 30-year-old woman Sita, were laying a telephone line when the speeding truck mowed them down.
“Two people were mowed down today (Sunday) by a speeding truck. We got to know about the accident around 6:00 a.m. Our team rushed to the spot,” a police officer said.
The driver of the truck sped away after the accident.
“We are investigating the matter and trying to trace the driver,” the officer added.
