Two killed in Afghanistan blast

Two civilians were killed and another injured in an explosion in Shindand town in Afghanistan’s western Herat province Wednesday, police spokesman Abdul Rauf Ahmadi said.

“The blast happened inside a shop at noon, leaving two civilians, including a father and son, dead and another civilian injured,” Ahmadi told Xinhua.

An investigation has been initiated, he added.

Over a dozen people, including nine policemen have been killed and almost the same number injured in bomb blasts and suicide attacks elsewhere in Afghanistan over the past three days.
