Two killed in accidents in Delhi

New Delhi, December 20: A driver and a mason were killed while two others received serious injuries in separate accidents that took place in outer Delhi, police said today.

Hari (40), a driver, was killed while Vijay (23) and Phool Kumar (22) who were travelling with him were injured when his tempo collided with a dumper in Alipur area at around 8 pm yesterday, they said.

The impact of the collision was so large that all the three were trapped inside the badly mangled tempo, which the police cut into two parts to pull them out. Hari died on the spot.

The dumper driver fled from the spot leaving the vehicle. A case has been registered and a hunt is on to nab the absconding driver.

In another incident, 30-year-old Mahesh Tiwari was killed when a speeding truck hit him from behind in Bawana last night.
