New Delhi: Two murder convicts, who jumped parole while serving life term at Tihar jail, have been arrested from west Delhi’s Uttam Nagar, police said today.
The accused, identified as Devraj (27) and Chintu Malhotra (35), came in contact with each other inside jail premises and after coming out on parole, they formed a gang and started gambling, especially on cricket, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) R A Sanjeev said.
Based on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and nabbed the duo from Uttam Nagar area where they had gone to meet an associate around 7.30 PM yesterday.
In 2008, Devraj allegedly murdered a man who, he believed, had an eye over his girlfriend, while Malhotra had allegedly abducted a man for money in 2000 and later stabbed him to death, police said.
