Two persons including the suspect were injured in a case of day-light robbery in Rajendranagar police limits on Tuesday.
According to police, two robbers broke into the house of Puna Kumar Singh in NRI Colony of Kismathpaur at around 10 am. At knife point, they forced Singh’s wife to remove mangalsutra and gold ring of about 2.5 tolas. Later, they entered another room and found Rs 5,000 cash. However, they tried to flee after finding Singh in the bedroom. Singh tried to counter them by wielding another knife and also gave a bleeding injury to one of the thieves near his shoulder. He also sustained a minor injury during the melee.
Both the thieves fled from the spot. However, police suspect that at least three persons were involved in the robbery and third one kept an eye outside the home. “The injury of one of the suspects is a clue for us. We are investigating the case in that direction,” Rajendernagar Inspector S Venkata Reddy said. (INN)
