Kannur: Two persons, including an 11-year-old boy, were injured when country-made bombs exploded in two separate incidents in the district today, police said.
Devanand, who suffered serious injuries on face and limbs after a bomb exploded at Panoor, was rushed to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital, police said.
The incident occurred when the victim was playing at the backyard of his relative’s house which had been closed for some years.
One of the three bombs, kept at the chimney of the house accidentally exploded leaving the boy seriously injured.
The other two bombs have been defused by police.
In another incident, a 38-year-old man was injured when a country bomb exploded while he was clearing shrubs in his agriculture land in Iritty in the district.
Police said the man Abdul Rasaq, a native of Palappuzha nearby Iritty, was injured when the bomb exploded as he was clearing the land using some electronic equipment, they said.
Rasaq suffered injuries on his face, hands and body and his condition is stable as of now, police said.
