Two held, Rs 2 cr cash recovered from a Mercedes car in Maharashtra

Beed: An election vigilance team on Tuesday arrested two men and recovered approximately Rs 2 crore cash from a Mercedes car near a check-post in Amalner village of Beed district.

The arrests were made after the team deployed to keep a check on compliance of Model Code of Conduct (MCC) stopped the suspicious vehicle and made the recovery.

“The money is handed over to the Income Tax department and the case is being investigated,” said Namrata Chate, SDM, Beed.

Lok Sabha polls to 48 seats in the state will be held in four phases on April 11, 18, 23 and 29.
