The Bowenpally Police unearthed the mystery behind the gruesome murders of five women at isolated places since April last year by arresting two criminals Talari alias Maina Sailu alias Ramulu alias Ravi aged 42 years of Jagtial mandal of Karimnagar district and Methari Bala Narsimha, 32, of Tandur in Ranga Reddy district on Monday at Suchitra toddy compound and recovered two pairs of gold eartops, 40 tolas of silver anklets and one mobile phone from the possession of accused. Two cases pertained to Bowenpally Police Station, two cases of Chandnagar Police Station and one case of Dundigal Police Station of Cyberabad.
Talari alias Maina Sailu alias Ramulu alias Ravi is a habitual murderer of women for gain. He used to lure women at toddy compound with a promise of giving handsome amount for sexual favours and make them consume toddy heavily. He used to take them to isolated places and strangulate with their saris. After committing murder, he used to steal gold and silver articles from the body of the deceased. Previously Sailu alias Ramulu was involved in murder of eight women and a man and committed theft of gold and silver ornaments from the bodies of deceased under the limits of Narsingi, Toopran, Sangareddy Rural, Dundigal, Narsapur, Kukatpally and Raidurgam Police Stations. Not only he is involved in heinous crimes but also in Robbery (Medak Dist), House Breakings (IDA Bollaram), ordinary thefts (Rajender Nagar) and two wheeler thefts (Raidurgam).
Earlier on October 12, 2009, the Special Operation Team of Cyberabad arrested him and was sent to Cherlapally jail on conviction by V Addl District & Sessions Judge, RR District. While in Jail, he came into contact with hardcore criminals, who are life convicts.
During December 2011, he was admitted in Erragadda Mental hospital along with Narasaiah, Afroz Khan, Griraj Singh Vaghela, Yadagiri and Lachaiah. However, on the night of December 30, 2011, managed to escape from Mental hospital barrack by cutting the grills of the window on which a case was registered at SR Nagar P.S. In this case, the life convicts Lachaiah and Afroz Khan are still absconding.
After escaping from Erragadda Mental Hospital, Sailu continued to lure women at toddy compounds and murdered two women under the limits of Chandanagar P.S in April and May 2012 for ear tops.
Later, he came to IDA Bollarum and worked in a stone crusher where Bala Narsimha came in contact with him, who was also working at the said place and used to consume liquor and in the habit of womanizing. Since then the duo used to meet and consume liquor and lured women in the same fashion and murdered two women last year under Dundigal and Bowenpally limits. He also murdered another woman on April 18, 2013 at Recovery camp of Military area under Bowenpally P.S.
With the help of evidence available at the scene i.e. Kinley mineral water bottle cash bill, Inspector Bowenpally Police Station made sincere efforts and nabbed both the accused. During the interrogation, they confessed to have committed the offences. They were produced before the court for judicial custody. (NSS
