Two held for indecent SMSes

Hyderabad, January 31: Two youngsters, who were sending abusive and indecent SMSes, were nabbed by the Task Force sleuths today.

The duo were sending SMSes to unidentified persons in the name of their rivals to derive pleasure when the latter were taken to task by receivers of the messages.

According to police, one of the accused, 20-year-old Shaik Mohd Iqbal, runs a kirana shop near his residence at Talabkatta. Iqbal reportedly had a quarrel with two neighbouring shopkeepers, Raheem and Multani, some time back.

“Having grudge against the duo, Iqbal planned to trouble them in some way or the other and asked his friend, 19-year-old Mohd Omer, a worker at a medical shop at Talabkatta, for help,’’ Task Force DCP V B Kamalasan Reddy said.

The duo procured SIM cards on fictitious names and collected mobile phone numbers of some persons from vernacular newspapers.

“The duo began sending abusive and indecent SMSes to the persons mentioning mobile phone numbers and addresses of the two shopkeepers, Raheem and Multani.

When receivers of the SMSes called back and abused the duo, Iqbal used to derive pleasure from it,’’ the DCP said. On a tip off, the duo were caught and handed over to Bhavani Nagar police.
