Two held for burglary at gold workshop

The Panjagutta Police apprehended two persons for committing night burglary at their employers’ workshop. They recovered gold ornaments weighing 230.11 grams, worth nearly Rs 6 lakhs.

According to police, the accused have been identified as Banoth Chatru Naik, 32, Sabavat Devender Naik, 32, both working for Rishab Gems and residents of RNN colony, Falaknuma. Chatru Naik has been working as Supervisor at Rishab Gems at Balapur Basthi of Panjagutta for last 13 years. But incurring heavy debts prompted him to commit theft of gold ornaments kept for manufacturing.

During the intervening night of October 25 and 26, he along with Sabavat gained ingress by opening the door lock of the workshop with the key available with him. They decamped with 230.11 grams of gold ornaments. Rajesh Jain who came to know about the theft, complained with the police about the incident.

On November 9, on a tip-off, cell phone and CC camera footage analysis, the police arrested both. (INN)
