Two miscreants, who allegedly abducted a 12-year old boy in Karmanghat area here, were given a sound thrashing by local residents before handing him over to the police.
According to the information, three unidentified persons kidnapped Srikant while he was playing before his house and confined him in a room.
When the trio was moving under suspicious circumstances, the local residents felt something wrong and caught the miscreants and questioned about their behaviour.
When the miscreants blurted out the truth, the locals gave a sound thrashing to two of them while the third escaped. The duo was handed over to the police, who have registered a case and taken up investigation. The police were trying to extract information from the accused about the fleeing man. (NSS)
