Two held with 8.325 crores unaccounted cash

Cyberabad police checking’s are being organized in the entire Commissionerate limits in view of similarly in Palmakula village of Shamshabad limits also a vehicle checking party consisting of ensuing General elections. On a tip off received from reliable source, Cyberabad Police on 25th April 2014 intercepted a bus coming from Bangalore bearing No. KA 01AB 2732 plying between Bangalore to Hyderabad Friday early hours at about 6.30 A.M at Pallamakulla village of Shamshabad rural PS limits and found two persons Prashanth Jitendra Suraya (32) S/o Jithendra and Darshan (22) S/o Kirit Bhai both are residents of Flat No.201, Prashanth Nest Apartment of Kachiguda in possession of seven travelling bags containing Rupees 8.18 crores in the denomination of Rs.1000 and Rs.500 notes respectively.

Upon further interrogation, Rs.14.5 lakhs unaccounted cash was seized from the flat of accused Prashanth in Kachiguda, making it a total of Rs.8.325 crores.

Prima facie investigation reveals that it is unaccounted cash being, transported from Bangalore to Hyderabad, allegedly to a Jeweller, through “Hawala”. Investigation is in progress and police is in a process of booking cases under various provisions of RP Act, IPC and other provisions of special laws. Cyberabad police commissioner C V Anand said.
