Two held with 21 kg charas from Sabarkantha

Banaskantha, February 16:Two men have been arrested with over 21 kilo charas worth Rs 15 lakh from near Parantij toll plaza in Sabarkantha district, Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) officials said here today.

Acting on a tip off, the Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) was keeping a watch on the Prantij toll plaza on National Higway 8 on the Rajasthan border yesterday, where they came across some suspicious people in a car from the neighbouring state, they said.

When the NCB officials checked the car, they found ten packets of Charas weighing 21 kg hidden in a special compartment in the rear side of the car.

Both the persons identified as Sarfaraz Ahmed (20) from Ahmedabad and Mukesh Khichi (30) from Ajmer have been booked under the Narcotic Drug psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, NCB Superintendent M P Saraiya said adding that further investigation was on, he added.
