Hyderabad: Due to the active efforts of Telangana Hajj Committee two hajj pilgrims got special permission and visa from Saudi Embassy at the 11th hour to proceed the Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj along with their women relatives whose husbands had died in the recent crane crash accident in Makkah. Mr. Shaik Ahmed Ali of Boodhan, Nizamabad died of Heart Attack. His widow Habeeba Begum needed a male mahram(relative) for performing Hajj rituals. In the same manner Ms. Zareena Bi and Ms. Bibi Jaan of Machlipatnam also needed a mahram. Prof. S.A. Shukoor, Special Officer of Hajj Committee prevailed upon CEO of Central Hajj Committee Mr. Attaur Rahman and Mr. S.M. Mubarak, Counsel General of India at Jiddah and sought their help for getting special permission for two Hajj pilgrims. They would fly from Mumbai today.
It may be noted that at the request of Prof. Shukoor visas were issued within three hours by Saudi Embassy although the issuance of visa was stopped. The passport of Mr. Shaik Istekhar Ahmed, son of Habeeba Bi had expired in 2006 but due to the efforts of State Hajj Committee of Telangana, Regional Passport Officer of Hyderabad issued new passport within three hours.
