Two habitual burglars held under PD Act

Hyderabad: City Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar, IPS, invoked P.D. Act against Thakur Vishal Singh, a habitual burglar of Gopalpuram Police Station on July 5.

Police said Thakur Vishal Singh, 21, of Allwyn Colony, Kukatpally and native of Jagathgirigutta has been habitually committing theft of two-wheelers and burglaries in the houses under the limits of Hyderabad, Rachakonda and Cyberabad Police Commissionerates and struck fear in the minds of the general public and was causing disturbances in the public order and tranquility in the area. His activities were harmful to maintenance of public order.

The police and Task Force personnel arrested him on February 12 and remanded him to judicial custody. Detention Order was executed on him on July 6 and was lodged in Chanchalgunda Central Prison.

In another case, the Commissioner of Police invoked P.D. Act against Mohammed Moosa alias Babu Jani, who committed thefts of Mobile phones from commuters in RTC buses and sharing autos under Afzalgunj Police Station on July 5. On July 6, the Afzalgunj police executed PD order on Mohammad Moosa and lodged him in Central Prison, Chanchalguda.
Police said Mohammad Moosa, 37, residing at Hafeez Baba Nagar, Chandrayangutta is a habitual offender and has been indulging in a series of property offences by committing theft of mobile phones in public places from the people travelling in RTC buses and sharing auto rickshaws in the limits of Hyderabad Police Commissionerate causing fear among the people.

Police said while conducting vehicle checking and frisking at Afzalgunj bus stop on December 29, 2017, the accused and his associate tried to escape on seeing them. The police apprehended him after a chase and remanded him to judicial custody. The detention order was executed on July 6 and lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison. (NSS)
