Two Gujjar leaders join BJP

Srinagar, April 30: Claiming that BJP is the only party that can effectively fight for the fair share for Gujjars in government job, two prominent local Gujjar leaders today joined the saffron party.

Choudhary Lal Hussain Lodha and Manzoor Hussain Badana joined the party and were welcomed by the state chief spokesperson Jitendra Singh and Ghulam Ali Khatana, BJP Tribal Morcha Executive Member and Prahbari State Muslim Morcha in the party”s fold.

On the occasion, Khatana said that some of the Gujjar leaders who joined the BJP today had defected from NC because they were feeling suffocated in that party which is controlled by a single family.

He said BJP was the only party which could effectively fight for fair share for Gujjars in government job and college admissions.

Jitendra Singh said that BJP was the only political party at national level which was truly secular in character and had the capacity to safeguard the interests of both the majority community as well as the minorities.

“Unlike so-called secular parties like Congress, BJP never indulges in politics of subtle communalism,” said Singh.

Others who joined included Lal Hussan Lodha, Manzoor Hussain Badana, Jamal Ali, Abdul Gani, Ashraf, Mohd Sadiq, Mohd Rashid, Arun Kumar, Moulvi Farooq, Moulvi Muzaffar, Laiqat and Ali, Mohd Yousuf.
