Hyderabad: A speeding car hit two Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) contract workers who were sweeping the road near the Madhapur police station on Monday morning. The victims suffered injuries.
As reported by the Times of India, K Manju (37) and Shantamma (36) of Jeedimetla, who belong to the sanitation wing of the GHMC were knocked down by a cab (TS 08 UA 9015) of Sony Transport, at around 6 am on Monday, when both the women, along with other GHMC workers, were sweeping the road in front of Little Hut Multi-cuisine Restaurant and Bar on Road Number 36 of Jubilee Hills, near Madhapur police station. While one suffered a head injury, the other’s leg got fractured as one of the tyres went over her leg.
A case has been registered against the driver under section 337 (causing injuries due to rash or negligent act) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
