Ludhaina, July 13: Two friends were shot dead allegedly by their two acquaintances at Guru Teg Bahadur Nagar in Mundian Kalan village, on the Chandigarh Road on Saturday night. However, the assailants have not yet been identified but the police have registered a murder case against unidentified persons.
The deceased-property dealer Rajesh Kumar and his friend Naresh Kumar are the natives of Jind district in Haryana. According to the police, the murderers fled from the spot after killing the duo.
Sources said Rajesh’s wife Preeti has told the police when she returned home on Saturday evening around 8.30 pm, she found Rajesh and Naresh consuming liquor with their acquaintances on the rooftop. She said she had never seen the persons before.
She further stated that she heard the sound of bullets from the rooftop while she was in one part of the house. After shooting dead her husband and his friend, the assailants fled from the spot, she added.
Speaking to Newsline, SP Snehdeep Sharma said, “We are thoroughly investigating the matter but till now the accused persons have not been identified. We hope to crack the case soon.”
