Two farmers die of heart attack after facing crop loss in Uttar Pradesh

Two farmers Uttar Pradesh died of heart attacks after their crops were damaged by unseasonal rains and a hail storm.

Unseasonal storms have badly damaged the winter crop in large parts of the fertile northern plains, most likely contributing to the suicides, and villagers have blamed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for not stepping forward to help the distressed farmers or to ensure that crop prices remain stable.

As per reports, so far 40 farmers have committed suicide in Uttar Pradesh alone.

The two farmers – Brijbihari and Babu – were distressed and in shock after their crops were damaged.

Brijbihari had recently arranged his daughter’s wedding as he was expecting good returns on his wheat crops.

“Due to unseasonal rain and hail storm, all the crops were destroyed. The farmer was not able to handle this and suffered a heart attack,” said the son of deceased farmer Babu, Baburam. (ANI)
