Two families embrace Islam in Hyderabad

Nine members of two non-Muslim families of Hyderabad embraced Islam along with their four children and migrated to Nawabshah after life threats from relatives.

The police presented them before the court here on Monday and they were given the permission to settle in Nawabshah. The court also ordered the police to provide them protection, after their relatives, who chased them to Nawabshah and attempted to drag them back to Hyderabad. The police, however, foiled the attempt.

One of the families includes Muhammad Saad, Mrs Komal Saad, their minor child Muhammad. The other family consists of Muhammad Eeman, Mrs Haya Eeman and three sons. The families said they embraced Islam five years back but kept it secret. Somehow the matter became known and after severe threats from relatives decided to shift to Nawabshah.

On the contrary, relatives of the families submitted a statement with police authorities alleging that Muhammad Saad and Muhammad Eeman abducted the women and children.

An investigation proved the allegations were false.
