Two explosions rock Libyan capital

Tripoli, May 10: Two explosions rocked Tripoli after jets flew over the city and smoke is rising from a site near the offices of Libyan television and the state news agency JANA, witnesses say.

The incident occurred in the Libyan capital in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

Tensions remain high in the country as forces loyal to the embattled ruler continue their efforts to suppress the popular uprising.

Gaddafi loyalists are struggling to prevent the revolutionaries from taking the battle to the capital Tripoli, where the Libyan ruler and his remaining allies are holed up.
