Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) launched two she-toilets (eToilets tailor-made for women) at Charminar on Friday. With this Hyderabad has got its first-ever electronic toilets (eToilets). GHMC Commissioner Dr. Janardhan Reddy along with other public representatives inaugurated the she-toilets.
The unmanned and automated eToilets have self-cleaning mechanism. The eToilets also have automatic pre-flush and after-flush, automatic platform cleaning, and LED indications and have GPRS-enabled remote monitoring capabilities for online tracking of entry and usage of every user. The lights and fan are turned on automatically when a user enters. The mechanism includes flushing of 1.5 litres of water after the first three minutes and 4.5 litres after a little longer and cleaning of the floor after every ten users.
The eToilets are also equipped with Napkin Vending machine and Napkin Incinerator.
Following the launch of e-toilets GHMC commissioner also reviewed the ongoing Charminar Pedestrian Project at Lad Bazaar. GHMC Mayor Mr. B Ram Mohan Rao, Deputy Mayor Baba Fasihuddin, MLA Syed Ahmed Pasha Quadri, corporator Mr. Mohammed Abdul Ghaffar and others were also present on the occasion.
