Two drug peddlers arrested, heroin seized

Ambedkar Nagar (UP), April 19: Two drug peddlers, who operated across five states, were today arrested and heroin with street value of Rs one crore seized from their possession here.

The drug peddlers, who operated in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand and parts of eastern Uttar Pradesh, were nabbed from Akbarpur town while they were on their way to hand over the contraband to a client.

“They have admitted that they were involved in such activities for the last five years and also had some clients in Nepal,” police inspector P L Yadav told reporters.

“The two have provided vital inputs to unearth the illegal trade in parts of the state, particularly in eastern Uttar Pradesh,” he added.

According to police, the men have been booked under Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
