Moscow, February 06: Two people were killed when a helicopter crashed in Russia’s southern republic of Kalmykia, authorities said Sunday.
The Mi-2 helicopter crashed Saturday at 23:00 Moscow time (20:00 GMT).
The crew had landed the helicopter due to a technical malfunction and the flight engineer fixed the problem.
But after the crew took off again the helicopter could not stay in the air and crashed on the ground, a source in the local law enforcement bodies said.
The helicopter belonged to the All-Russia Defense Sports and Technical Organization.
The pilot and a flight engineer died in the crash.
