Phulbani (Orissa), April 18: Two persons today deposed as witness before the Justice (Rtd) S C Mohapatra commission probing into the 2008 Kandhamal riots.
Twelve deponents have been summoned to witness before the one-man commission which commenced its four-day hearing in the communally-sensitive district.
As many as 504 affidavits have been received by the commission and 115?people so far been examined, Bijay Krishna Patnaik, special government counsel of the commission, said.
On the other hand, Justice Basudeb Panigrahi commission of enquiry into Kandhamal violence of December, 2007, also commenced its three-day hearing at Balliguda today.
Three of the ten people posted to be heard today appeared before the commission.
This commission is in receipt of 501 affidavits and 350 deponents have already been examined and heard, Jagadish Chandra Dash, special government counsel of the commission, said.
