Hindpur, May 16: Two persons died and five others were injured when a speeding Innova hit a two-wheeler and also hit people waiting for bus on the footpath, at Kodiganahalli check post on Sunday.
According to police, Mallesh, driver of the car, lost control of the vehicle and hit a motorcycle leading to the death of one Sriramulu, who was riding the bike.
The impact of the speed was such that after hitting the bike, the car hit people standing by the roadside, resulting in the death of one, Chalapathi (50).
Five others were injured in the mishap and were admitted to a local hospital.
They were later taken to Bengaluru for better treatment, after their condition deteriorated.
The car was reportedly on government duty and was engaged by the CM’s peshi.
It was returning to Hyderabad after dropping some people in Bengaluru. Mallesh was taken into custody by Hindupur Rural CI Vengugopal and Chilamathur SI Lakshmikantha Reddy.
