A two day training programme on Heritage Conservation for the Heritage committee members was held at the Y.S.R. National Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Management campus at Gachibowli, Hyderabad on 5th and 6th of March.
The President of the Programme was Ramakrishna, Deputy Director, Department of Archaeology and Museum and the chief guest was Prof. P. Narayana Reddy, Director of NITHM. Guest of honour was Mahonar A.S, Dept of Tourism.
After the inaugural program on Wednesday classes were conducted by archaeology expert Anurasha Reddy. She also spoke on the Importance of Heritage Conversation in Society. Kesav, Deputy Director, museums spoke on the Role of Heritage committee members in conservation.
Laxmana Murthy spoke today on the Conservation Laws. Before that E. Sivanagi Reddy, Director, State Art Gallery spoke on the topic Heritage conservation and Management Challenges. After that there was an open discussion followed by the Valedictory function. Participants were taken for a field visit to Golconda Fort and the Tombs. (NSS)
