Vijayawada, July 13: Krishna District Superintendent of Police D Ramakrishnayya passed orders, dismissing two constables from service on charges of raping a woman in a lodge at Mylavaram in March this year, as the two were earlier suspended by the SP on July three.
Mr Ramakrishnayya told UNI today that apart from dismissing the two constables A Venkat Rao and P Prasad of Mylavaram and Konduru police stations, Mylavaram Special Branch Head Constable M Venkateswara Rao, was also suspended for derlection of his duties.
Cases were registered under various sections of IPC against the dismissed constables, who were arrested, along with their friend Venkata Narayana for their alleged involvement in the case. A separate case was registered by the police against the 25-year-old woman’s maternal uncle’s son Kodali Krishna Kishore, who was named by her as the one who took her to the lodge.
It may be recalled that Kishore, who for long been promising to marry her, had taken her to the lodge on March 18 and later the constables and Narayana joined him, who allegedly raped her in the room and at the mango gardens.
A constable recorded the scene in his mobile phone camera and threatened the woman frequently that he would make it public.
