Two Congress MLAs on Monday submitted resignations from their posts and announced that they were officially joining the YSR Congress party.
The MLAs – Venkata Sujoy Krishna Ranga Rao Rau of Bobbili constituency in Vizianagaram district and Alle Kali Krishna Srinivas alias Alla Nani of Eluru segment in West Godavari district submitted their resignations to Speaker Nadendla Manohar at latter’s chambers in the assembly premises.
Later, talking to reporters they said that they have resigned from the Congress party’s primary membership and MLAs’ posts as per the wishes of people in their respective constituencies. They claimed that several Congress MLAs would join the YSR Congress party soon.
Alla Nani said that the Congress party was resorting to political vendetta against Kadapa MP Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said Jagan was being subjected to injustice by the ruling party. He said the Congress party has completely ignored the services of former Chief Minister later YS Rajasekhara Reddy and some leaders were even making fun of tears of his widow Vijayamma.
Ranga Rao said that he was joining the YSR Congress party due to his love and respect for departed leader YSR and MLA’s post was not important for him. He said he has resigned from his post to join a party who president was arrested by the CBI on false charges. He said the people in his constituency wanted him to join the YSR Congress party and support Jaganmohan Reddy and he obliged him. (INN)
