Hyderabad: Two teenage brothers Shashank Thakur and Rajeev Thakur were operated upon by a team of doctors at Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital to bring them back to normalcy from a point of almost no return.
The brothers who were brought in to the hospital were in a critical condition having met with a serious road accident requiring immediate surgical intervention to save their limbs.
While Shashank Thakur had to undergo multiple surgeries, Rajeev Thakur had almost lost his limbs and there was a bleak chance to revive the same.
Thanks to the team of experts at Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital, they were not only able to save their legs but were also able to get Shashank and Rajeev back on their feet.
Addressing the media here, Dr. VV Satyanarayana, Consultant – Orthopaedic Surgeon and Dr. Kalyan Chakravarthy, Consultant – Plastic Surgeon at Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital said, “Taking cognizance of the condition of the patient, we had successfully performed a complex surgery on Shashank and Rajeev Thakur and have nursed them back to normalcy. Today the Thakur brothers are not only back on their feet but are able to perform their normal routine tasks and have regained near normalcy”.
Shashank and Rajeev Thakur, the two brothers who were treated by the team at Aware Gleneagles Global Hospital said, “Thanks to the doctors at AGGH, today, we are able to stand in front of all of you. From a situation where we thought we will have to spend the rest of our life in crutches, here we are today, having got a second shot at our lives and back on our feet. We are back to near normalcy and had got back 75% of the functionality of my limbs, thanks to the team of doctors for their untiring effort”.
