Two bombs diffused in Bodo area in Assam

Bijni (Assam), May 6 (ANI): Police and paramilitary personnel in Bijni town of Assam diffused two improvised explosive device, while non-political student”s body said that it was an attempt to tarnish its image as the bombs were found within the compound of the dilapidated house, which was once its office. The president All Bodo Students Union (ABSU), Ajit Basumatar said that an attempt was being made to malign the image of the outfit. “Two IED bombs were found in front of the local office of the All Bodo students union (ABSU) in the Bijni region. Nearby was an SSP camp and also a private school. We fear that the purpose of keeping these bombs is two malign the name of this student outfit. The people behind this must come forward and not drag the ABSU into this kind of politics,” said Basumatar. The bombs were found in the office of All Bodo Student Union (ABSU) on Sunday. Assam police and paramilitary personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) undertook the search after they received information that the two improvised explosive device were placed close to the police camp and a private school. The police and the paramilitary personnel took more than five hours to locate and diffuse the bombs. The detection of the bomb by the paramilitary forces has prevented serious collateral damages. So far no group has come forward to claim responsibility. The police and security forces are engaged in an effort to ensure that the miscreants responsible for these attacks are caught. (ANI)
