The Telangana State government will begin its flagship program “two bedroom houses for the poor” in the State on auspicious Dasara festival day on October 22.
In the first phase, the works related to construction will be completed in eight months, said housing minister Indrakaran Reddy. An outlay of Rs 4,000 crore was being planned to spend for constructing 60000 houses for the poor this year, he told new persons at Adilabad.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao will formally launch the program by laying a foundation stone at Erravalli village in Medak district as well as at Suryapet in Nalgonda district on October 22, he said. The TRS Government is committed to keep its promise of providing permanent shelter to the poor. KCR is all set to begin the program at the village on the Dasara day besides celebrating the event there, he said.
The Chief Minister said he will participate in a similar program at Ellapalli village in Nirmal mandal area in the district. While ministers and MLAs concerned will begin the double bedroom housing scheme in their own districts on the same day, Indrakaran Reddy stated. The houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries in just eight months, the minister maintained. Providing two bedroom houses for the poor is first of its kind at national level, Indrarakan Reddy claimed. He also promised to maintain transparency to provide the housing facility so that the eligible poor. (NSS)
