Two auto drivers held for snatching cellphone from passenger

Hyderabad: The Bowenpally police today nabbed two cell phone snatchers Shaik Akbar and Md. Parvez and recovered one Samsung Cell phone and an auto from their possession.

According to Begumpet Division ACP, the accused are residents of Kishanbagh. In the year 2009, principal accused Shaik Akbar was arrested by Rajendranagar police and was also involved in property offence cases under Kamatipura police limits. The ACP said on March 13 evening, complainant Shivam boarded the auto from Bahadurpura to go to Secunderabad Railway station to go to his native place in UP. Meanwhile, another person sat beside the Auto driver. After some time, he observed that the auto driver was taking him in a wrong direction. Immediately he asked them to stop the auto. After reaching a lonely street at Tadbund, both the accused beat him and snatched his Samsung cell phone and sped in the auto.

On a tip-off on Saturday, sleuths rushed to Tadbund and nabbed both Shaik Akbar and Md. Parvez. The accused confessed to their crime. The police recovered snatched Samsung Cell phone and seized the Auto from the accused and producing them before the XI ACMM court at Secunderabad. (NSS)
