Lucknow, December 07: Two persons allegedly involved in smuggling of illegal weapons, have been arrested from Gorakhpur by the special task force of Uttar Pradesh Police, a senior police official said here today.
Sudama Gaur was arrested by the STF from PP Ganj area in Gorkahpur last night and after he was interrogated the gang leader Dhirendra Mohan Tiwari alias Disco Tiwari was also arrested, Additional Director General Law and Order Brijlal told reporters here.
During questioning, Sudama said that he used to bring weapons from Siwan district of Bihar and hand it over to Tiwari, he said.
Sudama was paid Rs 700 per trip, he said, adding that two revolvers, a pistol were recovered from his possession.
