Two arrested for making threatening calls

Lucknow, September 27: Two persons who had been allegedly making threatening calls for extortion in the name of gangster Munna Bajrangi, were today arrested in Varanasi, police said here.

The arrested accused Anil Yadav and Sunil Yadav were making threatening calls to one Lalit Gupta, a contractor in the CPWD in Varanasi, demanding Rs 6.50 lakh as “ragdari”, ADG (law and order) Brij Lal said.

The duo were arrested with the help of electronic surveillance by the Special Task Force, he said, adding one of their accomplices was absconding.

Two mobile phones used in making the calls have been recovered from them, the ADG said.

No link has been found between the arrested persons and Bajrangi, he said.
