Ahmedabad, June 10: The Ahmedabad police on Wednesday finally arrested two men, who were absconding after killing a factory labourer in Naroda GIDC last week.
The accused have been identified as Sonu Karji and Mohan Karji, residents of labourers’ quarters of Bhailal Plywood Industries at Kalol. They along with few others had reportedly attacked a few labourers working with the Sarvodaya Wood Products in Naroda GIDC.
The police said the victims — Jitendra Paswan, Paras and Ashok — were all sleeping in the open at the GIDC premises, when Karjis and two others attacked them.
In a bid to save himself, Paswan fell on a wooden plank and was hurt on the head. He also received grave injuries in the stomach and chest during the scuffle.
The police added that Karjis had an old rivalry with Paswan and had come from Kalol to beat him up.
The police have booked the duo for murder under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code and sought their further remand.
Meanwhile, search is on for the two other accused.
