Two arrested with hand grenades in Srinagar

Srinagar, March 07: Two suspected militants were arrested along with two hand grenades on the city outskirts, official sources said here today.

On a tip-off that the attempts would be made to smuggle some arms and ammunition into the city, police and 156 battalion of the CRPF established a ”naka checking” at Batpora under Zakoora police station.

During the searches, the police recovered two hand grenades from a vehicle.

The occupants of the vehicle, Bilal Ahmad Dar and Mohammad Sultan Rather were arrested.

A case has been registered against them and further investigation was going on, the sources said.
