Two arrested for altering age in passport

Uttar Pradesh, August 27: Uttar Pradesh police arrested two persons Amausi airport in Lucknow for allegedly providing wrong information about their actual age in the passports.

Arshad Jamal of Jaunpur and Abdul Rahim Khan of Maharajganj were arrested when they were about to board the flight for Saudi Arabia on Thursday, police said, adding the immigration officials have registered an FIR with Sarojininagar police station for against the duo.

“So far their passports have not been proved fake, but the immigration officials say that the age mentioned on their passports seems to be incorrect,” a police official said.

The youths looked much younger than the age mentioned in their passports, he said.

During interrogation the youths confessed that they altered their age as they were going to the Gulf country for better job prospects.
