Lucknow, December 26: A gang supplying arms to Nepali Maoists was busted with the arrest of two people near the India-Nepal border in Uttar Pradesh Sunday, police said.
The Special Operations Group of Uttar Pradesh Police seized two sophisticated imported pistols and ammunition from the two men in Bahraich district, about 130 km from here.
Bahraich Superintendent of Police Sanjay Kakkar said: “Two American pistols of .32 bore along with 10 bullets as also some ammunition of 9 mm pistols were seized from the possession of these two people who were arrested today (Sunday).”
“They have confessed that they were engaged in passing weapons across the border,” he added.
