Two acquitted of charge of attacking policemen

New Delhi June 21: A court has acquitted two men of the charge of making an attempt on the lives of two Delhi police constables, rejecting the prosecution story as one of the accused could barely walk being physically-challenged.

Additional Sessions Judge M R Sethi did not find substance in the charges framed against accused Harminder Singh and Sakendu Prasad saying the prosecution did not bring true and complete facts before the court.

“It is apparent that the prosecution has miserably failed to prove its case while the defence of the accused stands probablised. The prosecution was expected to prove its case to the hilt while accused had only to probablise their defence,” the court said.
