Meerut, April 05: A district court here has acquitted two accused in connection with the murder of under-19 cricketer Gagandeep Singh and a shopkeeper in 2009, due to lack of evidence.

Ajay Raj and Rahul Sirohi were acquitted by the district court yesterday for lack of evidence.

However, both the accused, currently lodged in jail in connection with the case, would continue to remain behind bars for their involvement in various other criminal activities in Delhi and UP from 2008 to 2009.
