Twitter has closed legitimate accounts but let anti-government :Iran

Micro-blogging website Twitter reportedly shutdown various accounts of Iranians, while allowed anti-government account backed by the United States said Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif on Sunday.

Taking a jab at Twitter, Zarif addressed his tweet to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey were he said: “Hello @Jack. Twitter has shuttered accounts of real Iranians, (including) TV presenters & students, for supposedly being part of an ‘influence op’.”

“How about looking at actual bots in (the Albanian capital of) Tirana used to prop up ‘regime change’ propaganda spewed out of (Washington) DC? #YouAreBots,” Zarif said, Middle East Monitor reports.

Many social media apps like FB, Twitter, Alphabet Inc have collectively removed or shut down hundreds of accounts allegedly tied to an Iranian propaganda operation in August.

The Iranian media have accused Israel, Saudi Arabia, and exiled opposition groups, including the Mujahideen Khalq for being behind social media campaigns calling to over the Islamic government.
