NEW DELHI: Bollywood former actor-turned-writer Twinkle Khanna grabs headlines for making ‘controversial’ statement on Viagra.
In an interview to Victoria Derbyshire’s show on BBC in London, the 43-year-old producer of upcoming movie, Padman highlighted an important issue saying that sanitary pads in many American states are taxed but not viagra because policymakers are men over 65 years with erectile dysfunction.
Mrs Funnybones added, “Yet pads are still seen as a luxury item. It’s odd that pads are taxed at 12 percent in India but brooms are tax-free, because it is more important that you keep your house clean rather than your body, and that America has taxes on tampons but Viagra is in fact, tax-free. Perhaps because policies are made by 65-year-old men with erectile dysfunction.”
She also tweeted her statement:
Thank you for clarifying that! Many states across America-viagra is tax free – here we are more interested in the life affirming benefits of tax-free Khakhra 🙂 #Padmantalks https://t.co/kzqFHjgs04
